Direct Support Professionals (Various Positions)

Personal Supports (in home/Companion/Respite)

Our Personal Support Services provide supported living, supported employment, personal supports, respite, and elder care. 

Key Tasks:

- Provide caring and responsible supervision to assigned individual
- Assist with self-care (personal hygiene: bathing, dressing, etc.) and housekeeping skills as assigned - these activities are essential to the health, safety, and welfare of the recipient when no one else is available to perform them
- Provide socialization activities and transportation to the activities
- Maintain documentation of services provided
- Able to resolve conflict in a calm and patient manner


 

Adult Day Programs 

  • Custom Creations- with its adaptive safety equipment allows an individual to build saleable products such as benches, flower boxes and recycling carts
  • Fundamental Skills Center- reinforces life skills basics, fine motor skills, music, games, socialization, arts & crafts and provides community outings
  • Creatve Learning Center- focuses on daily living skills, social integration, arts and crafts, office skills, ceramics, computers, exercise and community outings.  

Key Tasks:

- Execute daily learning curriculum for participants
- Provide socialization activities and transportation to the activities
- Maintain documentation of services provided
- Able to resolve conflict in a calm and patient manner

 


 

Requirements:

  • Are at least 21 years in age (25 if driving company vehicles due to FDOT restrictions)
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening
  • FBI Fingerprinting
  • Applicants MUST have at least one year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or childcare setting or at least one year working with persons with a developmental disability. 
    OR
  • Successfully completed college, vocational, or technical training equal to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours in special education, mental health, counseling, guidance, social work, or health and rehabilitative services can substitute for the required experience.

Married Couples for House Parents at Group Home (Orange Park)

Position Title: House Parent
Overnights Required.

BASCA's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Northeast Florida. We are a Christian non-profit organization looking for people who share our values and will share those values with the individuals we work with.

Job Description: We are currently seeking mature Christian married couples to work with and provide a family environment for 4-6 individuals with developmental disabilities in a behavior focus group home. We are looking for that dedicated couple who want to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

- Applicants must have at least one year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or childcare setting or at least one year working with persons with a developmental disability. - OR - 
- Successfully completed college, vocational, or technical training equal to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours in special education, mental health, counseling, guidance, social work, or health and rehabilitative services can substitute for the required experience. 
- A valid driver's license with an excellent driving record, and a working knowledge of computers. 

Duties include:
- Supervising/teaching daily living skills, providing family support and supervision. 
- Coordinating and providing transportation to medical appointments, community activities, church, etc. 
- Dispensing medications. Maintaining accurate inventories and record keeping. 
- Maintaining accurate daily/weekly/monthly records. 
- General facility supervision; including shopping, meal planning and preparation, general housekeeping, minor repairs and scheduling other maintenance. Regular household vehicle upkeep and keeping up with required scheduled maintenance.

House Parents work 7 days on/7 days off. Staying overnight in the house is Required. Benefits include health insurance, vacation time, comfortable living quarters, meals and vehicle use while on duty. 

**Please note: House Parents are not permitted to have their children at the BASCA home while on duty. We are also a non-smoking facility, and pets are not allowed.

House Staff for Group Home (Orange Park)

Position Title: House Staff
Hourly position. Overnights Required.
