Life Skills 3 Trainer/Custom Creations Program (Orange Park)

BASCA's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Northeast Florida.

As part of our program, we operate a manufacturing facility that teaches our individuals life skills. We are seeking individuals that have a passion for helping others and have experience working with adults that have developmental and intellectual disabilities. The job would require the supervision of a group of individuals in our woodworking and/or ceramic shop. You would work with other staff in completing tasks and making sure shop procedures are being followed. Experience working in a mechanical/woodworking shop is a plus. The following are specific requirements:

* One year's experience working with individuals with disabilities.
* Have mechanical/woodworking skills and be familiar and proficient with power tools.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
* Able to teach and train.
* Able to manage people.
* High school diploma or GED.

- Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening

Direct Care-Behavior Focus Group Home-Overnight and Weekend Shifts! (Orange Park)

Position Title: Direct Care Staff - Behavior Focus Group Home

BASCA's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Northeast Florida. 

We are a Christian non-profit organization looking for people who share our values and will share those values with the individuals we work with.

Job Description: We are currently seeking strong people of at least 25 years of age to work with and provide a family environment for 4-6 individuals with developmental disabilities compounded with a variety of behavioral problems. 

- Applicants must have a high school diploma
- Applicants must have at least one year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or childcare setting or at least one year working with persons with a developmental disability. - OR - 
- Successfully completed college, vocational, or technical training equal to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours in special education, mental health, counseling, guidance, social work, or health and rehabilitative services can substitute for the required experience. 
- A valid driver's license with an excellent driving record, and a working knowledge of computers. 
- Ideal candidates will have current CPR and First Aid certifications, related APD certifications helpful.
- Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening

Duties include:
- Supervising/teaching daily living skills, providing family support and supervision. 
- Dispensing medications. Maintaining accurate inventories and record keeping. 
- Meal Preparation and general housekeeping.

Married Couples for House Parents at Group Home (Orange Park)

Position Title: House Parent
Overnights Required.

Job Description: We are currently seeking 2 mature Christian married couples to work with and provide a family environment for 4-6 individuals with developmental disabilities in a men's behavior focus group home. We are looking for that dedicated couple who want to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

- Applicants must have at least one year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or childcare setting or at least one year working with persons with a developmental disability. - OR - 
- Successfully completed college, vocational, or technical training equal to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours in special education, mental health, counseling, guidance, social work, or health and rehabilitative services can substitute for the required experience. 
- A valid driver's license with an excellent driving record, and a working knowledge of computers. 

Duties include:
- Supervising/teaching daily living skills, providing family support and supervision. 
- Coordinating and providing transportation to medical appointments, community activities, church, etc. 
- Dispensing medications. Maintaining accurate inventories and record keeping. 
- Maintaining accurate daily/weekly/monthly records. 
- General facility supervision; including shopping, meal planning and preparation, general housekeeping, minor repairs and scheduling other maintenance. Regular household vehicle upkeep and keeping up with required scheduled maintenance.

House Parents work 7 days on/7 days off. Staying overnight in the house is Required. Benefits include health insurance, vacation time, comfortable living quarters, meals and vehicle use while on duty. 

**Please note: House Parents are not permitted to have their children at the BASCA home while on duty. We are also a non-smoking facility, and pets are not allowed.

House Parents for Group Home (Orange Park)

Position Title: House Parent

Job Description: We are currently seeking houseparents to provide a family environment for 4-6 individuals with developmental disabilities in a women's group home. 

- Applicants must have at least one year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or childcare setting or at least one year working with persons with a developmental disability. - OR - 
- Successfully completed college, vocational, or technical training equal to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours in special education, mental health, counseling, guidance, social work, or health and rehabilitative services can substitute for the required experience. 
- A valid driver's license with an excellent driving record, and a working knowledge of computers. 

Duties include:
- Supervising/teaching daily living skills, providing family support and supervision. 
- Coordinating and providing transportation to medical appointments, community activities, church, etc.

Direct Care Staff - Personal Supports (Orange Park)

Position Title: Direct Care Staff - Personal Supports (In-home/Companion/Respite)

We are a Christian non-profit organization looking for people who share our values and will share those values with the individuals we work with.

Job Description:

Our organization is seeking a part-time, hourly, Direct Care Staff -- services provided are determined by client need and authorization received from Support Coordinator. Specific service could be:

- Personal Support
- Respite Care

Providers will ensure that individuals served are supervised, working toward their own set goals and living daily life to their full potential. Staff is responsible for the well-being of the individual while services are being rendered.

Key Tasks:

- Provide caring and responsible supervision to assigned individual 
- Assist with self-care (personal hygiene: bathing, dressing, etc.) and housekeeping skills as assigned - these activities are essential to the health, safety, and welfare of the recipient when no one else is available to perform them
- Provide socialization activities and transportation to the activities
- Maintain documentation of services provided
- Able to resolve conflict in a calm and patient manner 

Requirements:

- Applicants must have at least one year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or childcare setting or at least one year working with persons with a developmental disability. 
--OR-
- Successfully completed college, vocational, or technical training equal to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours in special education, mental health, counseling, guidance, social work, or health and rehabilitative services can substitute for the required experience. 
- Are at least 25 years in age (due to FDOT restrictions for driving our company vehicles) and a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
